The second was taken on 11th April 1761 and states;

“County of Worcester

The examination of Ann Dyson widow touching the place of her last legal settlement taken upon oath this eleventh day of April 1761 before two of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the said County who upon oath says;

That this examinant is the widow of John Dyson ……. of  this Borough of Stratford upon Avon in the County of Warwick, cordwainer, saith that she hath heard her said husband say in his lifetime that he was put out apprentice by indentures for seven years to one William Hancock of the Borough of Stratford upon Avon aforesaid, cordwainer and that her said late husband served his said master several years under the said indentures in the said Borough till said master failed and that then he gave her said husband up his indentures and further saith that she this examinant hath likewise heard her said husband say that he never did any act whereby to gain any other legal settlement since his apprenticeship with the aforesaid William Hancock in the Borough and Parish of Stratford upon Avon aforesaid. Also saith that about fourteen years ago as near as this examinant can remember her said late husband had a certificate from the Borough and Parish of Stratford upon Avon aforesaid. (written above last sentence) “to this Parish of Kempsey in the County of Worcester”. Acknowledging him to be settled there and that she the examinant has reason to believe that this certificate is lost.

As the result of these Examinations a Removal Order was issued on 11th April 1761 for the Removal of Ann Dyson and her seven children, William, John, Samuel, Mary, Ann, Betty and Thomas to be removed from Kempsey to the Borough and Parish of Stratford upon Avon.
