Dawn left school at sixteen years and attended Worthing College of Art studying theatre design. She completed both B.Tech and HND courses and then worked in Theatre in Education with two Hampshire Companies travelling to schools throughout the county. She also toured in Europe and she gained further experience working on an opera project in Italy. She then secured a post at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, the home of Sir Alan Ayckbourn. She became Company Stage Manager, and has assisted in the production of many of his new works. Dawn married Lee Threadgold in April 2003. Lee is also employed in. theatre and as well occasional work at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, particularly with puppet shows, he is self employed in theatre in education in Yorkshire schools. Dawn left the theatre in 2005 due to the unsocial hours and commenced a new career in floristry.
