Will of Thomas Dyson of Inkberrow 1569

In the name of God Amen, I Thomas Dyson of the Parish of Inkberrow, in the County of Worcester, do make and ordain my last will and testament in manner and form following; First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and my body to be buried in the Parish Church Yard. I give and bequeath to Richard Dyson, my son 20/- in money and one heiffer. I give and bequeath to George Dyson, my son, 20/- in money and one heiffer. I give and bequeath to John Dyson, my son, 20/- in money and one heiffer. I give and bequeath to my younger daughter Joan, 20/- and one heiffer. All the residue of my goods and chattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath to Margery my wife and William Dyson my son. And that Margery, my wife, I do ordain and make my executrix of this my last will and testament. These being witness to John [  ], Thomas Freeman and others.

    Note

This will is obviously the same Thomas Dyson of Inkberrow that made the 1568 will. It is similar except the yearling calves have become heiffers.

Also note the residue of unbequeathed goods now goes to the wife Margery and the son William, but William is not invited to occupy half of the land (estate) with his mother. He is however  made overseer to the will so Thomas had not 'fallen out' with William. The most probable explanation for the need to issue another will is that William intended to, or was recently married and did not have plans to live with his widowed mother and assist her in the running of the estate.
