  • Will of Thomas Dyson of Inkberrow 1598

    In the name of God Almighty, the 29th day of January 1598, I Thomas Dyson of Holberrow Green in the Parish of Inkberrow, being sick in body, but whole in mind and remembrance, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

    Firstly I bequeath my sole to Almighty God my Saviour, and my body to be buried in the Parish Churchyard of Inkberrow aforesaid.

    I give and bequeath to Ralph, my middle son £6.13s 4d, to be paid to him at the end and term of three years after my decease. I give and bequeath to Thomas my youngest son, £6.13s 4d to be paid him at the end and term of four years after my decease. The rest of my goods, chattels and estate unbequeathed and whatever (my charges, debts and funeral discharged) I give and bequeath to Elizabeth, my wife, who I ordain and make my sole executrix to perform fully and keep this my last will and testament in manner and form above written, and also I make Thomas Huband and Richard Huband, his brother and Thomas Huband of Grays Inn my Overseers of this my will and testament.

    Witnesses hereunto: William Woolmer, Thomas Huband, Thomas Yates and others.

    Debts I owe; Richard Huband £1, Thomas Huband of Grays Inn £4.0s 7d, John Alyir 25/-, Edward Brown 6/-, Richard Wedgebery £5 2s 0d,  Richard Griffiths 6/4d, John Morris 2/-, Thomas Dumbleton for nine firkins of barley with Henry Dyson of Inkberrow 30/- and Richard Laugher of Inkberrow 6/-.

    Debts owing to me: Henry Haynes of Dormston 30/-, Henry Dyson of Holberrow £12,  The said barley, the said John Butler 13/-, Thomas Caunders of North Piddle [   ], Nicholas Nottingham of Same Cladswell 15/-, Henry Moye 7/-, Margaret, woman of Cladswell 15/- Lewis Bromfield 13/8d
